Brennan Center II: Bad Ballot Design

After reading the Voter Purging report, I found myself on a page describing badly designed ballots. There are ballots in 12 Ohio counties that have split the Presidential contest over two columns. Past elections have shown this type of ballot increases the number of non-votes from 1.1% to 12%. This is caused by confusion by the voter thinking that they are two separate contests and double-voting (thereby disqualifying their vote). Remember Florida?

From the report: "Hundreds of thousands of voters have been disenfranchised in recent elections due to badly designed ballots and confusing voting instructions—particularly elderly, low-income and new voters."

Considering the number of new voters that Obama is bringing in to this election, how much will this affect his vote in this highly contested state? When you're trying to steal an election, every vote counts!
